HOTmilk

This is not your typical lingerie, but that’s what makes it so fun!  HOTmilk has made being pregnant even sexier than it already is… I know, I didn’t think it was possible either. HOTmilk offers designer maternity lingerie, sexy nursing bras, camisoles and nightwear.  They have sizing charts to help you find the right fit and they even have a section for men to help them order something special for you.  Who says that you have to wear those white cotton nursing bras all of the time?!  What a fabulous way to keep the new mother-to-be feeling great about herself.  Enjoy!

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland | 2010

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter | Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen |  Mia Wasikowska as Alice

Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum

Anne Hathaway as the White Queen

Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter and Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat

Depp and Burton

You can get more info on the cast and film here.

If you don’t know already, Tim Burton is one of my idols and Johnny Depp is my favorite actor, so to have them team up once again in the 2010 Alice in Wonderland, is a dream come true.  I also really love how Helena Bonham Carter is always teamed up with them as well! They just work so well together to create such dark, yet extremely beautiful work.  Their stuff is right up my ally!  In addition to my lovely Chickiedee, I’m also an animator, motion graphic designer, and stop-motion beast!  It would be a dream to work on a project with the three of them… I can dream, can’t I?!  Anyhoo, they always seem to find a way to out-do themselves.  Alice in Wonderland has always been a favorite in my family while growing up.  In fact, my mom loved it so much, she always bought the books, movies, computer games, etc.  I can’t wait until this movie comes out so we can all see it together!  I just had to share this with you so that you could get in on the excitement!  Enjoy!

Blog Love | JH Papers {The Stationary Hustle}

We were so thrilled to see that JH Papers {The Staionary Hustle} featured us on their Blog today!  What a sweet and thoughtful gesture.  Rajshel is a graphic designer, like myself, with a passion for stationary and you can check out her website here to find some great things! I’m a huge fan of paper and what can be done with it, so I love to see people passionate enough, like Rajshel, to act on that.  Enjoy!

Make Tonight A Date Night

Totally stumped on what to write today, I was talking to a good friend of mine and she didn’t really know what to do on this fine Friday night.  Well, with her husband having to get up early for work tomorrow and a 3 month old baby boy at home, she said she’d just hang out.  Well, I thought, “Why not make it a special Date Night at home for him when he gets home?!”  She liked the idea so she might rent a movie and get some sodas, popcorn, and other great snacks.  Maybe you can try a At Home Date Night tonight!  There’s no rule that you have to get all dressed up, get a babysitter, and go out!  If you do something fun tonight, please share!

Colors That Inspire {Orange}

Blogpost_OrangeItemsOrange is a great color to bring Fall in with, don’t you think?  It’s vibrant and warm with a whole lot of pizazz!  I’ve been very attracted and inspired by the color orange lately, so I thought that I’d share a few wonderful product that are drenched in this fabulous color!  Enjoy!

1.  This Fitted Stripe Crib Sheet at Giggle is made from 100% Organic Cotton.  It’s temporarily out of stock at the moment, but you can visit Giggle and they can email you when it’s back in stock.  I thought this was just too cute not to share.

2.  Meet Bob.  Bob is an Orange Odd Duck by Boon Inc. at Amazon.  He is PVC Free and air tight to avoid trapped wather and mold growth.

3.  I’m still not quite sure how I feel about glass baby bottles, but this sure looks great!  This LifeFactory Wee-Go Glass Baby Bottle can be found at OompaToys.

4.  This Fresco High Chair in Harvest Orange by Bloom is so sleek and modern for that baby that has everything.  It can be found at CSNBaby.  Best of all the seat moves to a laied back postion as well!

5.  This Silicone Baby Freeze Tray is the perfect way to freeze your baby’s food in the perfect sized portions.  The tray doesn’t absorb flavors and they say you can reheat the food in the same tray, but I only see this working if you have one portion left.  Otherwise you’d be re-heating all fo the portions at once, right?  Anyway, it’s a great idea!

6.  This Skip Hop Duo Deluxe Orange Nappy\Diaper Bag is a mouthful to say, however, it’s very durible with tons of pockets!  Best of all, it is a great stroller bag.  It can be found at Tots n Tales.  The price is pretty steep in this economy, but it’s still nice to dream.

It’s all in the letters…

What a fabulous idea to decorate your baby’s nursery with the alphabet in a very mature manner.  The Alphabet Mural tutorial is posted at Project Nursery, so be sure to check it out!  I just love the overlapping letters in the light shades of blue and they go great with the bedding.  I like how this nursery looks clean, crisp, and classy.

This Baby Block Cake featured on MarthaStewart.com is a great was to celebrate the coming of a baby. All it is is a sheet cake cut into square blocks and covered in fondant.  It seems a bit time consuming, but well worth the effort.

Over at the hostesswiththemostess.com, they have have a great way to celebrate a baby shower using the alphabet.  Even the placeryemats have the letters of the alphabet on them!  I do love how they used the pacifier as a way to hold the silverware together on each plate.  Enjoy!

Dolce Designs | For Labor and Delivery

I went in for my annual woman’s checkup yesterday and while waiting in the waiting room I saw a  flyer for Dolce Designs.  I thought they were so cute and creative I just had to share.  When in labor and delivering, women don’t necessarily feel their sexiest or most beauiful, especially in those Plain-Jane hospital gowns.  Dolce Designs gives you a great alternative to look and feel more fashionable while maintaining comfort at all times.  We always seem to feel better in something that’s ours anyway.  These hospital gowns would be a fabulous baby shower gift for the next mom-to-be in your life!  Enjoy!

Food Face

What a fantastic way to get your little ones to eat their veggies!  Neat O Rama has these Food Face plates for sale on their site.  They remind me of those magnetic boards with the magnet pencil where you can make a beard or uni-brow on the bald guy, ha ha ha.  Enjoy!

Breastfeeding Tips

Breastfeeding is so important and offers healthy benefits to your newborn.  It can be scary and/or difficult, but it’s worth it for your child.  It’s very important to place your baby at your breast as soon as possible after delivery.  Talk with your doctor about your plan before hand, so they are aware of what you want and can help you.  While at the hospital, you can request to speak with a Lactation Specialist to observe your technique and to give guidance before you leave the hospital.  It is important that you achieve the Proper Latch, so ask your Lactation Specialist to assist you with that as well.  This will make things a lot smoother for you when you return home and have to do things on your own.  If you find that things are difficult in the beginning, limit visitors for a bit just so you and your newborn can connect and get on a schedule.  Naturally, mother’s and their babies will form a sleep and eat schedule, so listen to each other and it will happen.  Also, try to avoid pacifiers in the beginning, unless told otherwise by your doctor.  You don’t want your newborn to get used to the pacifier before he is used to your breast.

Babies prefer a rapid flow over a low flow, so they might take to the bottle of breast milk over your actual breast.  Try not to get discouraged by this.  It is still very important for your baby to breastfeed.  You will build a bond and it will help your flow increase.  If your baby starts to cry or scream before breastfeeding, calm him down by rocking or soothing him.  Once he stops, you can begin to breastfeed.  If you need to, you can try to use your fingers to start his sucking and then move him to your breast.  It’s important that you bring baby to your nipple height to avoid back and shoulder pain for you.  There are a variety of positions to try, so take some time to see what works best for you and stick with that.  If you feel pain, gently detach, rest for a second, and then try again.  Most of all, enjoy this special time with your baby!
