Labor Day Weekend

We played it pretty easy this last Labor Day weekend by hanging around the house, going out to eat, watching movies and spending a day up in Estes Park, CO with the pups.  It was so much fun and here are a few photos of our lovely holiday.

Tucker’s howling for the stick to be thrown…

He ended up bringing back a tree…

Frankie’s a bit scared of the water.

I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Welcome back to the working world. ♥R

let the fur fly

Oh boy has it been hot here in Colorado!  I can’t imagine what it must be like to have fur.  This year we decided to shave our Heeler-pups, but were told by the groomers that they highly recommend NOT shaving Blue Heelers (and some other breeds, so ask your groomers), because there is a 50% chance that their hair will NEVER grow back!!!  I’ve never heard such crazy talk.  We were also told that if their hair does grow back, it won’t be the same as before and they can get alopecia.  Yikes!  Who knew a shave could be so risky.  I didn’t believe it at first, but the Mr. Googled it and what she said was confirmed.  So, we decided not to shave them and we went the de-shedding route.  They look the same, but when I saw how much hair they pulled from their under-coat, I was more convinced that they’d be cool for the summer.  It’s just so hot for them right now.  Then, with our outrageously cold winters here, I didn’t want to risk them being bald forever, so I think we made the right choice.  In the end, they got a bath, blow dry, ear and eye wash, nail trim, de-shedding brush-out and bows.  They are shiny and new.  How about your pets, do they get any special summer groom?

Picnic In The Park

Today I thought I’d share just a FEW photos that we took yesterday at our little picnic in the park.  Ron and I had a picnic dinner and we finished off with one of the pups’ favorite games — FETCH!!!  They had a blast, as you can see.  They were so tired when they came home and slept hard.

I love how they are carrying the Dogzilla back together.  So sweet!

Look at that little eager tongue that’s sticking out!

Tucker taking a little break…

Frankie is too silly!

Longest tongue in town…

They had so much fun and so did we.  I love days like this.  What is your pups favorite game?

Oh! I took some product photos today for the shop update on Friday, so I’ll share a sneak peek tomorrow! Night! ♥RobbieLee

Impromptu Photoshoot

On Monday I was photographing for another post, when I was distracted by the cuteness overload of these guys!  So, naturally we held an impromptu photoshoot, featuring Frankie Li, Tucker Bean and Brutus James.  I love how they interact with each other, especially when they don’t know that you’re watching. They were just too cute not to share!

Have a great Wednesday! ♥RobbieLee

{color crave} Frankie

I’ve always loved color of any kind, especially color that pops!  I’ve always held onto the color values that I learned as a wee-one, and I’ve always understood color.  But it wasn’t until my college Color Theory course that I really started to pay attention to color and all that it has to offer.  I couln’t imagine a life without color.  It inspires me and keeps me focused.  For my love of color, I have decided to start a {color crave} series on my blog, basically breaking down some of my everyday photos.  My first one is of my pup, Frankie Li.  She is a beauty and she knows it.  She loves to pose for the camera, so it’s never hard to find a great shot.  I chose this photo because her baby-blues really pop and I think that is just the bees knees!  By breaking this photo down, i realized just how many colors she is made of.  I only displayed the main 5 though, because this would be a long post otherwise (smile).

Happy Monday!

Awww… I was looking through my image bank and found this sweet little photo.  This was taken earlier this summer in Estes Park, CO.  If you have never been there, you should make it a point to visit.  It is such a sweet, natural and innocent town.  It’s full of charm and beautiful wildlife!

As you know, I’m a sucker for animals in general, so I just had to share this sweet little photo.  I hope your Monday is treating you well and I better get back to sewing!

{photo friday} vol.1

Happy Friday!  I love photography and all that goes with it.  I’m always snapping new shots of whatever throughout the week and thought to myself, why not share them?!  So, I decided to create {photo friday} to share what I’ve captured.  I’m so excited to see everything compiled in one place.  Let’s see where it goes.  Well, enough chit chat, enjoy…

Clockwise: sweet little fox that I saw in my mom’s neighborhood; Starbucks sign while visiting with a gal pal; My lil bro assisting in making fresh mozzarella at Johnson & Wales; My newest haircut – I love it!; Frankie and Tucker at the dog park for Frankie, Angel and Dimitri’s 3rd Birthday; a butterfly bouquet that my hubby, Ron, surprised me with.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Dog Treats

I just love anything homemade and I love when you can make things for your pets, too!  Like me, I’m sure your pets are an extremely important part of your family, so why not treat them to something special like this?!  Our little Tucker Bean is turning 1 year old on Saturday and I was thinking of inviting everyone and their canine friends to the dog park for a little get-together!  Wouldn’t these treats be great in little ‘doggie bags?’ We celebrated Frankie, Angel and Dimitri’s 1 year birthday last year with a shindig at our place, so we thought we’d mix it up this year.
You can find the complete recipe and instructions over at Shared Sugar.  My mom and I simply love that site, because they share all sorts of yummies for everyone!  When you get a moment, browse their site and see what you can bake up tonight!  Enjoy!

There’s a new Private in town…

Cpl. Molly, the Marines Mascot of 7 years, is retiring and letting 7 month old Pvt. Belleau Wood step in.

This is a tradition that goes back to 1939 with an English bulldog named James Jolly Plum Duff.  Belleau, this little “bundle of bounce,” was named after a World War I battle in France, and is already showing signs of that Marine Corps grit. ” ‘She’s really hardheaded on certain stuff,’ said Cpl. Shawn Dickens, her Marine handler.  For instance, ‘sit’ is solid. ‘Stay,’ well, that’s another tale.”  As for Molly, she will live her retirement in Texas with a Marine officer.

Happy Veterans’ Day to everyone and thank you to all of our brave troops for defending our country with pride.  We love you all and hope you all come home soon!  To my great friend, Sgt. Matthew Grogan, please be safe and we’ll see you for the Holidays!
