magazines to envelopes

Aren’t these the sweetest and greenest envelopes that you’ve ever seen?!  I seem to think so.  I just love sending letters to family and friends in these one-of-a-kind handmade envelopes (by me).  Who thought magazines could be so useful.

Check out the newest section in the shop and be sure to order by Dec. 15th to ensure that they get to you by Christmas!

Enjoy,

RL

{wedding wednesday} vol.1

My love for weddings all started about 3 years ago, when I got to plan my very own.  I’ve always loved to go to weddings and my mom actually is a silk flower wedding designer, so I’ve always been around them.  But, something changed when I got to plan our wedding.  I began gathering all sorts of inspirational images from magazines and websites.  Then I compiled them into a book with notes (we’re talking in great detail).  Now, after being married for a little over 2 years, I still find myself inspired by wedding imagery and all that goes with it.

So, I thought that I could share all things about weddings that inspire me in {wedding wednesday} posts!

What better way than to start the first {wedding wednesday}, than with photos of our wedding…

We are simply in L.O.V.E with the 1920’s-1950’s era, so naturally our wedding would reflect that.  We had everything from Zoot Suits to Swing Dancing… it was so magical.

7 years and counting…

… 7 years ago today I found the love of my life.  I can’t believe how long we’ve been together, because it seems like just a few years have passed.  We’ve already done so much together, I can hardly believe it!  We met while attending The University of Denver (DU) and instantly became inseparable and it’s amazing what you can accomplish in 7 years with the support of someone else.  We lived together for 4 months in Florence, Italy while Studying Abroad and that gave us the opportunity to travel all over Europe!  We went all over Italy to places like, Perugia, Assisi, Rome, Venice, and The Vatican.  We also got to cliff jump, bungee jump and snowboard in the Swiss Alps!  Switzerland reminded us so much of home because of the snow capped mountains.  We felt right at home.  We also made it to Paris, France; London, England; and Shannon, Ireland!  We’ve also been to Mexico a few times together and spent our Honeymoon on the warm beaches of Jamaica.

In addition to all of our traveling, we both have found time to start our own businesses.  Ron started Feed The Bull a few years ago to share what’s hot in the Stock Market.  It’s a great community site where anyone can join in and read articles, post articles and vote on articles.  It really keeps you up-to-date on the Stock Market and other companies.  I’m so proud of him!  Then in 2007, as you already know, I started Chickiedee.  I love to sew, craft, draw, paint and just plain create, so this was a natural step for me.

Right now life is sweet.  We have our home, health, two dogs and our cat.  Soon we will expand our little family and eventually have children, but until then, I’m happy to have my hubby by my side.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Dear Jessica,

I am truly blessed to have you in my life.  You are indeed a life-long friend and you are always there for support.  It’s hard to believe that we’ve been friends since we were in kindergarten and it seems like just yesterday that you stood up in my wedding with full support.  You’ve always had my back and I will forever do the same.

I can’t express enough what a beautiful young woman you are and how you hold all of the qualities that would make others jealous!  You are unbelievably smart, passionate, loyal, kind, loving and full of faith.  I also admire your optimism and sense of humor.  I laugh so much when I’m around you and it’s a healthy release.  Thank you for being you and not letting anyone take that away.

I love you, my dear!  Happy 26th Birthday and I’ll see you for your Birthday dinner!

Love,
Robster

{Flashback Friday} Morph

I absolutely love this Morph piece that I did when I was in High School!  I went through a phase where I drew and painted nothing but Bumble Bees and this was one of my pride and joys of that time. It’s a Bumble Bee morphing into a plane!  So neat and so special!

My ZZ Pops!

Hey all!  Ron and I just got back from a mini vaca to visit my “pops” on the mountains (so that’s why I didn’t write over the weekend) and we had a great time.  We took Frankie and Tucker too of course, while Brutus had some “cat” time at home.  We cruised around on the Mule on Saturday and took a few mini hikes with the pups, then we took a moonlight ride on the Mule to do a little stargazing.  It was soooo beautiful, because you don’t see the stars that clear here in the ‘burbs,’ ha ha ha.  Here are a few pics of our adventure… enjoy!

New Beanie…

Photo 4

I just love my new beanie that I bought on Wednesday!  I’m not usually a compulsive buyer, but I’ve been wanting a new beanie for quite sometime now and when I stumbled upon this one in a sweet little boutique I instantly feel in love.  The color was what caught my eye, but the price is what made the final decision… $10 bucks!  I know, I know, I could hardly believe it either. What made it even better, was that I had one of those Visa Gift Cards, so I justified the purchase.  Well, I better get to making dinner.  Ron will be home soon! Tickles, RobbieLee
