Oct, 12Sweet Finds
Yesterday the mister and I drove down south to our old college stomping grounds where we took a stroll on Old S. Gaylord St. and dropped into a few shops. We found a new little candy shop called Gnome’s Nook. It was so cute! Outside they had a little gnome garden and when we went in we were welcomed by two sweet girls who gave us the rundown. They explained how we could navigate through the two-story shop and they reminded us that all gnome’s are for adoption. When we went upstairs, we were greeted by a young man who gave us even more candy knowledge. We didn’t plan on buying anything, but the staff were all so kind giving us samples and explanations, that we just had to. Then, we walked down the street and had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. If you’ve never been to the Wash Park Grill, you have to go. Their french fries and lobster club are our fave!
After lunch we dropped by the Cherry Creek Mall and did a little window shopping. The mall was crazy-busy, as it usually is, so we ducked into Urban Outfitters for a few laughs. We just love looking through their books… always a great time. Then, as we ventured further back in the store, we saw the SALE signs… oh boy, that’s my spot! We scored big time, too! We found this sweet little HOLGA camera and fashion sketchbook and got both for under $19, seriously!!! I love when that happens! I forgot the film at the store last night, so I can’t wait to pick some 35mm up and start shootin’. This is going to be fun.

Jun, 121,000th Instagram Photo
Holy Smokes! I’m coming up on my 1,000th Instagram photo! I’m actually super excited about it and to celebrate, I thought I’d do a “photo an hour” today! Apr, 12Impromptu Photoshoot
On Monday I was photographing for another post, when I was distracted by the cuteness overload of these guys! So, naturally we held an impromptu photoshoot, featuring Frankie Li, Tucker Bean and Brutus James. I love how they interact with each other, especially when they don’t know that you’re watching. They were just too cute not to share!

Apr, 12Photography Wishlist
Photography has become a bigger part of my life than I could have ever imagined. I’ve always enjoyed taking photos of family and friends to capture those special moments, but I never thought it would become part of my daily life and small business. I take photos every single day now, both for Chickiedee and for fun. It really all started a couple of years ago when the Mr. surprised me with my very own iPhone4!!! The camera was as good as our little Kodak, and I always had it on me, so why not snap photos all day long! Then he bought us a Nikon D80 and that opened up a whole new world for me. Now my product photos and blog photos are gaining strength as I learn how to properly use it.
Being an art major has really helped me understand photography quickly, because the most important thing in both is lighting. Without good lighting, your photos won’t be strong as they could be. I feel that I have a pretty good grasp on using the Nikon, but I know I have so much more to learn, and I’m excited to do so!
With that said, there are other photography goodies that I have on my wishlist… some are gadgets for the Nikon and others are just for fun. I’m slowly growing my collection of photography goods. As you already know, I just received my Teal Rose Camera Bag from Jo Totes just a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn’t be more happy with it. Mar, 12My Lovely New Camera Bag
Hello! I was so excited to come home and see a package from Jo Totes on our doorstep on Thursday. It came way sooner that I had expected, so that was a surprise.
I couldn’t wait to tear into the box to see my new camera bag! It’s even more beautiful than I had thought it was going to be. I’m clearly so excited that I’m sharing it with you… so it must be important, right?! heehee Oh! And I love the cute little Jo Totes bag that it came in… great packaging from a design standpoint.
I haven’t quite figured out how I want to set up all of the inserts, but it looks like I may be able to fit my iPad in there too! I plan to fit a lot in there, especially when we travel, so this is great. I just couldn’t resist the teal shell paired with the houndstooth lining… stunning! This beats a traditional black Velcro camera bag any day!
I couldn’t be happier right now. I just need to put everything inside now. Hummm… do I smell another “What’s In My Bag” post?! Does anyone else have a Jo Tote? If so, tell me about it! ♥RobbieLee

Okay, so you already know how in love I am with Instagram, so it’s no surprise that I would find Sticky-gram just as fun! Sticky-gram is a place to turn your favorite Instagram photos into magnets!!! It seems a bit steep in price ($15 for 9 magnets), but it is a custom job. I really want to try it, so I need to go through all of my Instagram photos and pick my top 9! Oct, 11365 Self-Portraits {4-7/365}
Hello there! Today is a very rainy day here in Central Colorado, and that’s the way I like it. Gloomy and rainy days are when I feel my most productive, because I can sit down with a quilt and a hot drink while I craft or blog. I’m off to an early start too, because I have a lot of new pieces to add to the shop! (smile) I can’t wait to show them to you, so check back later tomorrow.

Oct, 11Personal Chanllenge: 365 Self-Portraits {1-3/365}
So, as you may know, I just celebrated my 28th Birthday on Saturday! Yikes! I can’t believe how each year seems to fly by faster than the next. Don’t worry though, I’m enjoying every bit of it.
Last Friday I was browsing the Internet and I came across Elsie’s “5 Tips for Better Self Portraits.” I was able to take so much from that post and I want to thank her for sharing. In step 4, Elsie briefly touched on how she tried the 365 Self Portrait Challenge and it inspired me to try. I know it will be hard to continuously think of fresh and creative ways to capture myself and what makes me unique, but I’m up for it. I think it will only make my image captures that much better in the future. Plus, it will be fun to see if I change at all in one years time.
I chose to start on my 28th Birthday this year (October 1st)… I thought it was fitting (smile). So far, I have these three images. Stay tuned for the next batch and wish me luck!

So, this weekend is my friend’s Bridal Shower, and we have been planning it for over a month now! It’s getting down to the wire and I’m wrapping up the Smile Booth. I can’t share what I’ve made yet, I don’t want Jessica to see the finished product before her big party, but here are a few things from smilebooth.com that inspired me.
