Hey Denver, CO! Come visit me and so many other talented vendors (including my momma) at this years Spring 2013 Horseshoe Market on Saturday May 11th (Mother’s Day weekend)! It’s from 9am-4pm and there will be handmade, vintage and food items. It’s the perfect place to take your mom or to find that special gift for her. I hope to see you there!
I’m back with a sneak peek of my latest Roblin painting. If the weather cooperates tomorrow (lighting wise), I’ll put it in the shop. I’m really excited about this one, he’s so cute!
I’ve been working so hard to get new products made for the shop. It’s been a busy time, but I love it! I just made these two headbands (both one-of-a-kind) with vintage buttons that I found at a quilt fair over the summer. I’ll be posting more products soon, so I’ll keep you posted.
Welcome to the new look of Chickiedee! As you may know by now, I love to reinvent myself once in a while, so I’m thrilled to share this with you. It’s been a whole year since I’ve made any changes. My husband isn’t the biggest fan of my reinventions, because he’s the one that has to build my websites. Eeek! I design them, and he codes them. (heeheehee) He’s such a sweet sweet man to support me. I wanted something clean and simple with large-and-in-charge images. This is the happiest that I’ve been with my site in a really long time. I want to give a very big thank you to my dear husband, Ron, for making this possible. Without him, my site would be a mess.
Everything should be pretty easy to find, but if you have any questions at all, please let me know. I’m in the process of updating the shop’s inventory, but everything else is good to go. Also, if you’re interested in Sponsoring for March, click here, I have some special rates for the re-launch of the site. I also want to thank my current Sponsors for their continued support, you truly are the best.
Oh, and in addition to this re-launch, my new-to-you blog, A Beautiful Brand, will be up very soon. I’ll keep you posted. For the past 7 years, it’s been more of a “secret site” for my clients. That’s right, I brand creative small businesses and help them get started. I’ve recently decided to start sharing my experiences as both a creative small business owner, as well as a graphic designer. I want you to succeed and the best starting point is to have a beautiful brand as your backbone. So, whether you’re in need of some branding or just looking for some creative small business tips, I think you’ll enjoy it. I can’t wait to share! Happy Friday!
It’s been a crazy time of year for me with the Holidays right around the corner and trying to stay on top of everything, and if you’re a creative business owner, then you understand. With the help of my mom, I try to stay focused and think positive. If I feel myself start to worry more than I should, I quickly redirect my thoughts to something more productive. I recently stumbled across this post that Kyla Roma wrote on her blog. I’ve never really listened to podcasts before, but with her recommendations and tips, I’ve officially been introduced.
I often find myself sitting at my desk, drafting table or sewing machine and I realize that I’m in complete silence. No radio, no TV, no iPod – nothing. I actually enjoy the quiet at times, but it’s nice to have something new to listen to as I work. The podcasts can be quite inspiring and keep me focused on positive and useful topics. With music, I’m able to tune it out much easier and then my mind goes crazy with all of my to-do lists! Eek! The podcasts give me a break, so I appreciate that in the busiest of times.
Now, I’m not saying that I’m anti-TV or music as I work. I love them! It’s just that sometimes I feel the need to switch it up a bit and this is a great way to do that. I appreciate Kyla taking the time to gather some recommendations – very helpful for a podcast newbie.
Kyla’s post isn’t just about podcasts, it’s about pinpointing your passion and living it each and every moment. Maintain your focus and you will continue to move forward doing what you love. Now, back to my crazy-busy life!
I can’t believe that it’s that time of year for another cookie swap! It’ll be our 7th Annual Swap, in fact. I’ve been looking through my recipe books, Pinterest, and the internet for a yummy cookie recipe to share this year… and I’m feeling so inspired! Last year I made soft pumpkin cookies and they were heavenly. I’m thinking either pinwheels of some kind or a gooey chocolatey one for this years party. Any suggestions on a good recipe?
Yesterday, I bought bags with labels to package each dozen in, as well as some super-cute elf invitations from Target. I’m so excited to get the invites in the mail, but I have to focus on this weekends’ craft show, at the moment. What’s inspiring you this week?!
I’m so happy to be a Sponsor for the New York State of Mind Blog! Daina is so sweet and I love to view the Big Apple through her photos, stories and blog. I’m excited about her November Giveaway, because you have a chance at winning some sponsor spots, jewelry and one of my bows (the teal one above)!!! The Giveaway runs now through November 14th, so don’t wait, get your tail over there!
This past week I’ve been inspired not only by Halloween, but also by the upcoming Holiday Season. Next weekend my mom and I have a craft show, and it’s totally geared towards Thanksgiving and Christmas – I can’t wait. And it’s that time of year where we need to start thinking about Holiday shopping and I’m going to add few last-minute products to the shop within the next couple of weeks, just in time for a SALE. Woohoo! I can’t wait for that. So, I’ll keep this inspiration going and just keep sewing… P.S. my sweet friend, Meghan, made my lovely Autumn crown for my Birthday last month and I love it!
