3 Year Wedding Anni!

Wow! I really can’t believe that it has been 3 years, today, since I married the Mr. Looking back, it truely was our dream wedding! I have always loved weddings, but nothing compares to your own, really. I remember a whirlwind of events and people swirling around me, but I was also able to focus on Ron and I joining lives forever. It was a beautiful feeling. I remember going into the day thinking to myself, “don’t cry too hard.” When the time came to walk down the aisle with my mom on one arm and my dad on the other, I was shocked that only smiles came… no tears at all! I was just so happy and excited to marry Ron, that there was no room for tears. As I approached the alter, I realized my “tough” hubby-to-be was all teary-eyed. Awwwww… it meant a lot to see him like that, because he doesn’t cry. I knew at that moment that he loved me more than ever and I felt the same. But why wasn’t I crying?! I thought everyone would think that I was insensitive. I had to quickly snap out of that mindset and focus, “I’m not crying because I too stinkin’ happy, that’s why!” haha After that, I made sure to listen to all of the vows and everything around me. I wanted to absorb that moment and remember it forever. It was such a magical day and now each year I get to relive a piece of it over and over with him.
I have a surprise for Ron for our wedding anni, but it isn’t until this Sunday. I’ll be sure to share it with you next week, as not to spoil the big event!

{wedding wednesday} vol.7
Oh heavens! Where were these stunning dresses 2.5 years ago???!!! I want to get married all over again just to wear one of these dresses. Oh, that didn’t come out right. I would get married all over again because of love, but I would be wearing one of these. LoL. Now, which one would I choose? So many decisions. These works of art are from Elihav Sasson’s 2011 Bridal Collection.

{wedding wednesday} vol.5
I love how bridal headpieces are not only staying from the long traditional veil, but also how they are combining vintage and modern properties. I made my own veil for our wedding and never looked back. At the time, I could only seem to find the longer veils which were far from my style. They work for many brides, just not me. We had a 1940′s inspired wedding, so French Netting was the way to go. I remember how one of the shop assistants at the bridal store kept trying to persuade me to buy a long veil. She didn’t think headbands and barrettes were the way to go… but look at these beauties!

I simply love color and it seems that the latest bridal style does too! What better way to make a lasting impression. I mean, the color of these shoes really pop against the white gown. I really wish I would have thought of this 2 years ago. If I had, I think I would have chosen some gold glittery heels. I had the traditional white, white turned out beautiful, but this would have been so fun! I do love my white shoes more now though, because my mom and I had to search everywhere (and drive a long distance) to find the perfect ones that I had envisioned.

{wedding wednesday} vol.1
My love for weddings all started about 3 years ago, when I got to plan my very own. I’ve always loved to go to weddings and my mom actually is a silk flower wedding designer, so I’ve always been around them. But, something changed when I got to plan our wedding. I began gathering all sorts of inspirational images from magazines and websites. Then I compiled them into a book with notes (we’re talking in great detail). Now, after being married for a little over 2 years, I still find myself inspired by wedding imagery and all that goes with it.
So, I thought that I could share all things about weddings that inspire me in {wedding wednesday} posts!
What better way than to start the first {wedding wednesday}, than with photos of our wedding…
We are simply in L.O.V.E with the 1920′s-1950′s era, so naturally our wedding would reflect that. We had everything from Zoot Suits to Swing Dancing… it was so magical.

Flaunt like a Peacock…
I just love peacock feathers and their colors! Every year I go with my family to the Indian Market and I buy a new peacock feather. I’m going today actually! I have so many feathers and don’t know what to do with them. Maybe I can take a few pointers from the fabulous items below! Oh, and the lady that I buy the feathers from has a peacock farm, if you will, and she just raises them for fun because she loves them. All of the feathers were collected once they fell off of the males, they were not plucked! Ouch! So, no peacocks were harmed.

Our 1 Year Wedding Anni | August 9
A year ago today my husband and I were married in front of all of our closest family and friends. It truly was the wedding of our dreams! We had a 1940′s inspired wedding complete with the Victory Rolls, Handmade French Net Veil (by me), Zoot Suits with hats and chains, and Cymbidium Orchids. My mother designs silk flower bouquets and arrangements, and she did a fabulous job on our entire wedding! She didn’t miss a beat. She did all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, center pieces, cake topper, and corsages. They were better than I had imagined! I remember how crazy everything was a few weeks before the wedding. We had so many last minute details to carry out with such little time. One of my brother, who was a groomsman, broke his arm skateboarding two weeks before our wedding! I actually had a feeling something like that was going to happen. I wasn’t mad at all actually, I thought, “This is another part to our wedding story.” I was glad that my brother was okay and he was kind enough to get a black cast to match the Zoot Suit Tux! As it got closer to the big day, it seemed like a dream. Everything was moving quickly and none of it seemed real – then BAM it was time! I remember arriving at Stonebrook Manor at 5 pm to meet my wedding party and my hair & makeup artist, Katelyn Simkins. I was completely content and not stressed at all – it surprised me. The 7pm came fast and it was time to meet both of my parents to walk me down the aisle. It meant so much to me to have them both there by my side during that special moment. As I got closer to my husband-to-be, I realized that he was crying! He never cries! That meant so much to me. I just absorbed everything, not to miss a moment. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Our first dance was “At Last” and our friend sang it live for us and she was out of this world! Then we did a little swing dancing, ate some fabulous food and had a grand time! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a single thing! Happy Anni Ron, I love you!
