Keep Your Lawn Happy
Keep your lawn and pocket-book happy by watering it early in the morning, around 5am. Why, you ask? Because the lower temperatures at that time gaurantee less evaporation, lower winds mean your grass is less likely to be blown dry, and high humidity and morning dew contribute to whatever’s coming out of your sprinkler or hose. Early-morning watering also helps prevent lawn diseases, because your lawn will be dry by nighttime. So your lawn gets more water, therefore it is happier and so are you because you have a rockin’ green lawn and spend less money achiving it!

Saving Energy | Cold vs. Hot Water
Cool Fact! Every 10 degree drop in water temperature saves you about 3-5% on water heating costs!!! Can you believe that? So, try to wash your hands in cold water vs. hot/warm because it actually kills the same number of germs. It’s the scrubbing that rids your hands of dirt and germs (plus a biodegradable soap). Towels and sheets can be washed in warm water rather than hot to save energy. If you’re up for the challenge, try taking a cold shower! hee hee hee Or shoot for a warm one at least!

The Immense Journey | Loren Eisley
I love this: “If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water… Its substance reaches everywhere; it touches the past and prepares the future; it moves under the poles and wanders thinly in the heights of air. It can assume forms or exquisite perfection in a snowflake, or strip the living to a single shining bone cast up by the sea.”
– Loren Eisley, The Immense Journey
It’s so important to conserve our plants water. With out it we could not live. We all should try to turn off the faucet when not in use, avoid watering the lawn at the hottest part of the day, make sure that we have a full load of laundry in the washer before turning it on, same goes for the dish washer, etc. Water is valuable and we should treat it as such.
