About Me & Chickiedee

100_1802

Hi there!  I’m RobbieLee, a motion graphic artist/graphic designer/artist who lives in beautiful Denver, Colorado! I’m easily inspired by beautiful things and I enjoy sharing fun and useful tips with people like you!  This blog is a combination of me and Chickiedee.  I feel that I have so many layers to share, and this is the perfect place to do that.

With that said, I’m the founder, designer, and editor for Chickiedee.com and this Blog! This blog is where I write about cool things like Chickiedee updates, baby tips for mommy and daddy, Green Living tips, pet & animal tips, wedding tips & tricks, and anything that inspires me creatively!  If you have tips or ideas to share, I’d love for you to send them over along with your first name, last initial, and state of residence to customersupport {at} chickiedee {dot} com.  Then I’ll post them for you!

Below is a little bit of info on Chickiedee | Modern Apparel for Babies.  Enjoy!

Here at Chickiedee we strive to give an alternative to the average baby apparel with a handmade touch.  It’s also important to us that your children are stylish and sustainable all at the same time!  That’s why we try our hardest to use materials and practices that are good for both your children and the environment.

The name Chickiedee is the nickname my mother gave me when I was about 3 years old.  I used to have a soft and fluffy yellow coat with a chickie on it and it was my absolute favorite.  I wore it everywhere.  So, she eventually just started calling me Chickiedee and it stuck.  She still calls me by this name to this very day.

We believe that it’s important to be as gentle on the environment as we possibly can to ensure that our children can have a healthy place to grow and play.  That’s why we try our best to use eco-friendly materials and practices to create all of our products.  All of Chickiedee’s one-pieces are 100% Cotton or 100% Organic Cotton for the most comfort and sustainability.  All of our items are American made, sweatshop-free and handmade with care.

We encourage everyone to recycle and reuse as many items as possible.  If we all work together, we truly can make a difference and our children will surly benefit from it.

Hey there, I am an eco-friendly mom who just moved to Denver (from Portland) and I’m also a photographer. I’m running a contest for some free photography that might be of interest to your readers so I thought I would tell you about it. (I found your blog while searching for denver nurseries, as it is a nursery contest!). Anyway, the link is here, take a look: http://www.vibrantlifephotography.com/blog/?p=860. I’m all for cross promoting and networking with other local women biz owners…let me know if you want to post it or think your blog readership would be interested in entering their gorgeous nurseries (or even if you have friends with babies in this age group who might want to enter, feel free to foward to anyone)! You have a great sense of style and I’d love to photograph a nursery decorated like the ones in your pictures. I love that you are local Denver and promoting green practices like you are. I’ve been slightly stressed since moving here that people don’t recycle much, don’t bring their own bags, stuff like that. In portland it was a given (heck, some stores don’t even have bags at the registers much anymore) and so it’s nice to see this! Also about the cleaners, I’ve been trying to get people to clean with vinegar and water forever. Nobody ever believes me when I tell them that’s what I use! :)
